The Way I Want To Learn

The Jeff Bliss Edition :

Wait, who is Jeff Bliss ?

You know , the sophomore at Duncanville High School . The one who stood up to his world history teacher and stated that she should interact with the students rather than just handing them a packet and telling them to do it. Remember now ?
He also says that she should make the kids excited to go to the class , by getting involved and interacting with the class , at least , that's what I interpret.
Honestly , i agree with Jeff simply because , the teachers need to interact with the students more often. I also believe that if the teachers make the students look forward to going to their class, it would make a big difference in the student's performance .
For example : The kids aren't really going to want to learn if the teacher never says anything , but rather he/she just hands them a packet and says " do it. " I mean , I personally learn better when the teacher is involved , and make the class fun .
However , I do believe Jeff could have expressed his opinion better by not thrashing out in front of the whole class , but rather sit down and talk with the teacher personally and in a calm , civilized manner.
So in conclusion , I agree with Jeff Bliss , in a way . I believe he is right about the teachers needing to be more involved and interact with the students , but I also believe he could have simply sat down and had a civilized conversation with the teacher , instead of ranting out in front of the whole class .

STAAR Testing

Ughh... STAAR Testing was today. Four hours of non-stop testing. I really don't like the fact that we have to test for four hours. I mean, after about an hour or so, most kids begin to get bored, and lose focus. I know I do.
Not only that, but I don't know why teachers put so much stress on kids who take it. They act like if they don't pass they are going to die or something. The kids end up stressing out so much that they can't even sleep the night before and perform poorly because they are so tired.

Honestly, the revise and edit test wasn't even that hard, it just took a lot of time. I was expecting to have two hours for the test, and two hours for the expository essay, but instead I took three hours for the test, and only one hour for the essay.

Well, that was my STAAR experience... I seriously hope yours was better...

My Wiki

Wikispaces

NEGATIVE

Honestly, wikispaces was very easy to use, however, I did not the fact that you could not collaborate and see  what other people are editing like you can on Google+. Another thing is that if you were working with two or more people, and you saved it, one person's text might be saved, but the other person's might not be. So, i didn't like that. Another thing was that if you saved it while another person is still editing, the wiki might freak out, and when both people save it, the words will be all jumbled up.

Positive

Wikispaces was actually very easy to figure out. I really liked that you could go back in your revision history and go back in case you made a mistake. I also liked that the table of contents was very easy to setup. The only thing was you have to press enter everytime you made a new chapter or all the text would be in the table of contents.

So that's my reviewof wikispaces. Bye!

My Spring Break

My Spring Break

How was my spring break? Well its was really lazy.. except for Monday and Tuesday, because I had to go to a soccer camp. But other than that I didn't really do much except lay around in the morning, (BORING!)plus, I had to do homework. (UGHH!) but then I had to pay for it by going to soccer practice at night. On the weekend I went to the mall with my friend, and then we had a sleepover. So, I guess that was fun, I mean, we stayed up until 7:00 a.m, and that was really tiring. But i kinda wish I could have done something more exciting...

If Money Wasn't an Issue

Ha, if money wasn't an issue, I probably would have gone to California or Florida, just to enjoy the heat, and go to the beach, and maybe even go surfing. Then, I would have gone to Disney Land, just because. I think the main reason I would go is because I have never been, and everyone talks about how awesome it is. After i was done I would go to New Jersey, and tried Carlos's Bakery. (Cake Boss) Then I would go home because of school. xC

If We Were Unplugged...

DON'T EVEN JOKE LIKE THAT!

NEGATIVE
  • Seriously, don't even joke like that... If the world was not as technologically advanced as it is today, I honestly don't think I would know as much as I know. Our generation would practically be over. Not only that, a lot more people would be dying of certain diseases such as cancer because the doctors would not know which cells are cancerous, and which ones aren't.  Another thing is nobody would be able to text or kik or whatever they do... They would have to send letters or meet somewhere ( UGHH!)  If we were unplugged, meteorologists would not be able to track very big storms or tornadoes. More people would die because they would prepare or expect it.  Plus, we would not have ever caught Osama Bin Ladin  because we would have never known that he was living in the house that he was. We probably wouldn't be able to catch any terrorists.
POSITIVE

  • Now, for the positive things. If we were unplugged, I honestly believe that we would get higher grades because we wouldn't be on all of our favorite sites, and would have no choice but to do homework. Yea that's basically it.

As you can see, I obviously support technology, and couldn't live without it.
